Visitors to UB’s Carlson Hall have noticed a new resident in the second-floor lounge.
It’s Carl!
The Undergrad from Down Under, the UB Newbie, the Pouched Purple Kangaroo Ka-night!
Our Wild Knights reporter caught up with Carl to find out a little about what’s hoppin.
WK: What brings you to UB?
Carl: The great professors, the beautiful campus, the cutting-edge curricula, and my wonderful fellow students.
WK: It sounds like you have a lot of school spirit.
Carl: I bleed purple and white.
WK: Wow, you really love UB.
Carl: I do, but it’s also a biological fact. Kangaroos have purple and white blood. At least that’s what I heard.
WK: Do you miss the open grasslands of the Australian outback?
Carl: No, it’s pretty boring there. They don’t have a Starbucks and it’s hard to find a good Jamaican restaurant.
WK: You’re living in Carlson Hall?
Carl: Oh yeah. All the professors who work there have been super-nice to me. They even gave me a chair to sit in. I try to be a supportive and welcoming presence to everyone.
WK: What do you hope to do with your degree from UB?
Carl: I’m majoring in English & Professional Writing. I want to use my voice to spread my message of hope and positivity.
WK: That’s great, Carl. Any final words for the folks out there?
Carl: You can do it! I believe in you!
Come visit Carl on the second-floor lounge of Carlson Hall. He’s the kangaroo who believes in you! He’s always up for a selfie, and he’s a really good listener.
